For the 17th time this year we are organizing a Special Adventure Camp. From September 14th to 19th the camp will take place for the 3rd time in Brunnen and Zug.
The Special Adventure Camp
As a charity foundation, we have been organising a football camp for people with and without disabilities in Central Switzerland every two years since 2016. The aim of the camp is to promote cooperation between people with and without disabilities. In varied training units under the guidance of internationally recognised coaches, participants are offered ideal conditions to develop their footballing skills at a high level. But also off the pitch, a special leisure programme awaits the teams. This year, due to the Corona pandemic, teams from France, England, Portugal and Italy will unfortunately not participate. The reduced number of participants promises an exciting week nevertheless. Among the participating teams are the Special Needs Teams from FC Brunnen, VfB Stuttgart, SCR Altach, FC Lugano and Zug 94, as well as the Special Needs Teams from FC Brunnen.
Education in schools and clubs
The special thing about the Special Adventure Camp: The district school SZ and the youth from FC Brunnen and Zug 94 are involved. In this way, pupils who are not disabled come into contact with disabled young people. By playing football together in mixed teams, various leisure activities and lectures at the schools on inclusion, the participants come closer to each other – and experience first-hand that their differences are much smaller than their similarities.
The SAC offers not only football competitions, but also a platform for the exchange of knowledge between coaches from different countries. This year, coaches from Benfica Lisbon, Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC will travel to the SAC without their teams to work with the other coaches on the basics of coaching training for Special Needs teams. The finished concept will then be presented to the various football associations in Europe.
Health-promoting football – for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Walking Football is aimed at football enthusiasts of all ages and physical fitness levels. As fast running is strictly forbidden, Walking Football is a health-promoting football game that can be played by anyone and everyone. That’s why walking football is a great way to keep in shape, get active and socialise with other people, and this year, for the first time, a tournament of this kind will be held in Brunnen, Switzerland on Friday 18 September. Everyone is invited to register a team. The current field of participants is mixed. participating teams.
