Compact seminar "Inclusion through the power of football"

Our training and further education for inclusion in football took place for the 3rd time at the beginning of June, this time at the Technical University of Munich. Participants were students of the course "Sports Teacher in the Liberal Profession". The seminar was led by Fritz Quien, inclusive football coach at VfB Stuttgart (Project for Inclusive Football Promotion).

The course began with a simulation exercise about disabilities: with simulation glasses, hearing protection and crutches, the participants performed various football exercises and were thus able to experience the challenges of people with disabilities concerning football training through self-awareness. The programme continued with a demo training session with the football group for people with disabilities from Lebenshilfe München. Through the joint training session, fear of contact has been reduced and the insight gained that the caracteristic of an inclusion coach is his adaptability, with which he can adapt exercises flexibly to the different capabilities of the players.

The participants were highly motivated and willing to change their perspective on inclusion sports.

The FIM family would like to thank the Chair of Sports and Health Didactics at the TU Munich for the succesfull collaboration. Special thanks go to Fritz Quien for his commitment as course leader.
