A weekend full of emotion, encounters and unforgettable moments has begun!

From 19 to 21 June 2025, Fribourg becomes the centre of inclusive football. The Mémorial Sekulic 2025 is not just about sport – it’s a celebration of community. Teams from different countries, people with and without disabilities, and partners from sport, education and civil society come together to play, learn from one another, and send a strong message of inclusion.

What to expect in the coming days:
Friday, 20 June – Welcome Evening in Ueberstorf
The teams arrive and are warmly welcomed with a shared dinner at the sports field in Ueberstorf. In a relaxed atmosphere, anticipation builds for a meaningful weekend. First conversations, shared laughter and genuine encounters set the tone for what’s to come.
Saturday, 21 June – Tournament Day with Big-Name Guests!
Afternoon – Inclusive Football Tournament (Stade Saint-Léonard, Fribourg)
The five teams with players with disabilities take to the pitch in friendly yet passionate matches. It’s not about winning – it’s about coming together, enjoying the game and celebrating the joy of football.
Evening – Walking Football Tournament (Basketball Hall of Fribourg Olympic)
The day’s big highlight! People of all ages come together for a special Walking Football match – children, adults, seniors and special guests all playing side by side. The focus is on fairness, movement and true participation for everyone.
Special Guests & Powerful Messages
The Mémorial Sekulic is supported by personalities who bring visibility and credibility to the message of inclusion – both on and off the field:
Adolf Ogi – Former Federal Councillor and long-time advocate for sport
Guillaume Hoarau – Former BSC Young Boys professional and fan favourite
Gerhard Andrey – Green Party National Councillor and active voice for a more inclusive society
Players from Fribourg-Gottéron – Yannick Rathgeb (#27), Andrea Glauser (#96) und Christoph Bertschy (#22) will join the Walking Football event as special guest players
