From 18 to 23 September 2023 we are organizing our Special Adventure Camp for the 22nd time, an inclusive football camp and tournament for young people with and without mental and/or physical disabilities. This year it will again take place in the Principality of Liechtenstein. We invite 100 disabled athletes from Germany and abroad to Schaan to promote your physical and mental well-being through sports and leisure activities and to teach you new life skills.
Another central goal of the project week is to raise awareness among young people in Liechtenstein for the topic of inclusion. Pupils from Liechtensteinisches Gymnasium will take part in an awareness workshop and then play football with the disabled athletes in mixed teams. Through this encounter and playing together, mutual understanding and fears of contact are reduced through self-awareness. The aim of the initiative is to draw attention to the everyday challenges faced by people with disabilities and to sensitize young people to the issue of equal participation in society.
We end the camp week with a soccer festival of inclusion on Lindaplatz with the aim of sensitizing the population of Liechtenstein to the topic of inclusion. For this purpose, we will set up a soccer court in the heart of the community of Schaan, on which the final round games of the Special Adventure Camp tournament and an inclusive walking football tournament will take place.
All football fans are cordially invited to actively participate in the tournament in order to play football in mixed teams with disabled players, regardless of age, gender or any disability.
Registrations as individuals or as a team (5 people) are possible until September 6, 2023 at c.bicer@footballismore.org.
