On 5 October 2025, the Swiss Inclusion League enters its next stage: after the successful kick-off in Brunnen, the league will now be hosted at Stadion Wankdorf in Bern together with the Swiss Football League and BSC Young Boys.
The Swiss Inclusion League was created to make inclusion visible in and through football. Its aim is to bring people with and without impairments together in a sporting environment, break down barriers, and strengthen community. The first matchday in Brunnen already showed how much enthusiasm there is – among players and spectators alike. That is why the project continues with conviction: every edition should create a sporting highlight and send a strong signal for social cohesion. The Swiss Inclusion League demonstrates how diversity and mutual respect reach far beyond sport itself.

The second matchday in Bern will focus on shared experiences and encounters. In the morning, teams of athletes with impairments will play their own tournament, competing in fair and exciting matches. This part of the day allows the players to showcase their skills and stand centre stage.
In the afternoon, the inclusive section follows. Local players from the Bern region and staff members of BSC Young Boys join the squads. Together with the athletes with impairments they form mixed teams and experience football in its most unifying form. This exchange lets everyone learn from one another – far beyond the sport itself. Results take a back seat; what counts are shared experiences, overcoming barriers, and creating new connections.
Hosting this special matchday at the legendary Stadion Wankdorf sends a strong statement: BSC Young Boys, one of the country's most successful clubs, actively supports the Swiss Inclusion League and underlines that football is more than competition – it is a bridge between people and worlds.

Spectators are warmly invited to attend, cheer on the teams, and be part of this inclusive football festival. Every single person helps to carry the message of inclusion further.
Hanspeter Rothmund, CEO of the FOOTBALL IS MORE Foundation, sums it up: "For us, the Swiss Inclusion League is much more than a football tournament. It shows the powerful role sport can play as a unifying element. Together with Young Boys and everyone involved, we want to send a strong message for inclusion at Stadion Wankdorf – and prove that football has space for everyone."

We are looking forward to shaping the next stage of the Swiss Inclusion League together with Young Boys, all our partners, and of course the players – and to turning Bern into the capital of inclusion for one day.
