FIM Board Meeting Highlights & Strategic Partnerships

We are pleased to share the key outcomes and significant moments from our recent FIM Board Meeting.

Strategic Partnership Signed

A highlight of the day was the signing of a landmark agreement between FIM and the Dubai Club for People of Determination, represented by His Excellency Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Executive Board. The contract was co-signed by His Excellency Majid Rashed, in his capacity as President of the Asian Paralympic Committee and CEO of the Dubai Club for People of Determination.

This collaboration marks the beginning of a strong and long-term partnership. Together with the Dubai Club and our office in the Middle East, we will be working closely on inclusive sports and social projects, with the first major initiatives already planned for 2026. This step further strengthens our shared commitment to empowering people of determination and creating opportunities for participation and inclusion on a global scale.

Welcoming Three Distinguished New Board Members

We are delighted to introduce three esteemed individuals who have recently joined the FIM Board:

• Roberto Mascaro

• Martin Ospelt

• His Excellency Majid Rashed

His Excellency Majid Rashed, in addition to his role at FIM, serves as President of the Asian Paralympic Committee. His leadership and experience will be invaluable as we expand our activities internationally and deepen our work in the Middle East.

Presentation of a New Project with UN Partners

Another highlight of the meeting was the contribution of Stephanie Dei from the International Organization for Migration (UN Migration). She presented, in cooperation with the UEFA Foundation for Children, a potential new project in Tunisia. This initiative would use sport as a powerful tool to foster integration, inclusion, and new opportunities for young people.

Looking Ahead

With these new partnerships and leaders joining our Board, FIM is poised to elevate its mission—to champion inclusive sports and drive forward meaningful change worldwide. We warmly welcome Roberto Mascaro, Martin Ospelt, and HE Majid Rashed, and look forward to the exciting projects ahead, particularly our strengthened collaboration in the Middle East with initiatives launching in 2026.
