On 5 October 2025, the Swiss Inclusion League enters its next stage: after the successful kick-off in Brunnen, the league will now be hosted at the Stadion Wankdorf in Bern, in close collaboration with the Swiss Football League and BSC Young Boys.

The Swiss Inclusion League was created to make inclusion in and through football visible. Its aim is to bring together people with and without impairments in a sporting environment, break down barriers, and promote a sense of community. The first matchday in Brunnen has already shown impressively how great the enthusiasm for this format is – among both players and spectators alike. That is why the project is being consistently continued. Each edition is meant not only to create a sporting highlight but also to send out a strong signal for social cohesion. The Swiss Inclusion League serves as a platform that demonstrates how diversity and mutual respect are core values that reach far beyond sport itself.
The second matchday in Bern will be shaped by a clear focus on shared experiences and encounters. In the morning, teams with players with impairments will play their own tournament, competing against each other in fair and exciting matches. This part of the day allows the athletes to showcase their skills and to be at the centre of attention.
In the afternoon, the inclusive part of the matchday follows: local players from the Bern region, as well as employees of BSC Young Boys, will be integrated into the teams. Together with the players with impairments, they will form mixed teams and experience football in its most unifying form. This creates direct exchange, where everyone can learn from one another – beyond sport itself. Here, the result is not the main focus. Instead, it is about the shared experience, overcoming barriers, and the opportunity to build new connections. This exchange is exactly what makes the Swiss Inclusion League such a unique project.
The fact that this special matchday can take place at the legendary Stadion Wankdorf is a strong statement: BSC Young Boys, one of the biggest and most successful clubs in Switzerland, actively supports the Swiss Inclusion League and underlines that football is more than just competition – it is a bridge between people and worlds.
Spectators are warmly invited to attend the matches live, cheer on the teams, and be part of this inclusive football festival. Every single person’s presence helps to carry the message of inclusion further.
Hanspeter Rothmund, CEO of the Football is More Foundation, puts it clearly:“For us, the Swiss Inclusion League is much more than just a football tournament. It shows the powerful role sport can play as a unifying element. At Stadion Wankdorf, together with Young Boys and all those involved, we want to set a strong signal for inclusion – and prove that football has space for everyone.”
We are looking forward to shaping the next stage of the Swiss Inclusion League together with Young Boys, all our partners, and of course the players – and to turning Bern into the capital of inclusion for one day.
